The ISTAR-Information Sciences and Technologies and Architecture Research Centre is interested in supporting candidates who wish to apply for the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT) Programme Call: Stimulus for Scientific Employment with projects that align with the research foci and mission of the center. This call financed by FCT has 300 vacancies for 6-year contracts for junior, assistant, principal or coordinator researchers.
a. Junior Researcher: PhD holders for 5 or less years, with limited post-doctoral research experience in the scientific area of the application;
b. Assistant Researcher: PhD holders for over 5 years, with relevant curriculum in the scientific area of the application, but with limited scientific independence;
c. Principal Researcher: PhD holders for over 5 years, with relevant curriculum in the scientific area of the application, demonstrating scientific independence over the past 3 years;
d. Coordinating Researcher: PhD holders for over 5 years, holding the title of habilitado or agregado in Portugal, with a curriculum of high merit, and demonstrating scientific independence and leadership in the scientific area of the application.
Candidates interested in having ISTAR-IUL as their host institution should send a motivation letter, their cv and a synopsis of a research project (in English) to pre-award.istar@iscte-iul.pt (until 17 February). The proposed project should be aligned with the research undertaken in ISTAR.
After receiving feedback from ISTAR-IUL, those who were evaluated positively may submit their application to FCT with ISTAR-IUL as their host institution (deadline 26 February).
