Talk “Space Perception: objective and subjective assessment of people’s behavior in the built environment

Czech Technology University Prague, 26th April,  12:30, by Sara Eloy

This talk will address studies developed at ISTAR-IUL to measure the potential of the built environment to shape peoples movements and behavior. The large goal of our research aims at studying how auditory, kinaesthetic and olfactory senses and visual elements like light and colour influence people’s reactions to space. The studies that will be presented use technologies like space syntax analysis for an automatic analysis, virtual reality to simulate people reaction and measure their behavior, questionnaires to observe people reaction and measure their behavior, biometric sensing to collect data on people and measure their responses, and observation of the real world.
