details

The goal of this project, funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is to change ISCTE-IUL’s campus users behaviour to reduce energy consumption and increase the campus environmental sustainability. The project draws from Psycology, Architecture and IT and employs IoT, behavioural economy and gamification to involve the whole community in a common purpose.

The project’s ambition is not closed in ISCTE-IUL’s campus, the objective is to develop a methodology that can be applied to other facilities, large and small.

From 2019 to 2021, the following goals are envisaged:

  1. Development of a methodology to reduce energy footprint in public and shared buildings.
  2. Proof of quantified and replicable concept of methodology in other public or private shared buildings.
  3. Drive behaviour change in the ISCTE-IUL community (about 14,000 users during the project) and improve off-campus behaviours.
  4. Permanent reduction of the energetic footprint of the ISCTE-IUL campus.
  5. Dissemination through workshops, reports and academic journals and international conferences.
